Mechanical Team Lead - The Mechanical Team Lead is the technical subject matter expert for the Mechanical discipline, responsible for completing R&D development and transitioning designs into manufacturing. This role ensures that concepts move beyond prototyping into reliable, standardized, and production-ready solutions. Key responsibilities include leading the creation of mechanical and structural designs and models to meet both customer and internal requirements, while collaborating closely with the Electrical & Software teams and the Director of Operations. The Team Lead drives projects from the quotation and concept stage through to turnover—covering detailed design, technical documentation, fabrication and assembly drawings, reports, and oversight of manufacturing readiness. In addition to technical execution, the Mechanical Team Lead sets and enforces mechanical standards, ensures team competencies, and mentors designers and technicians. The role is pivotal in bridging innovation and manufacturability, ensuring R&D outcomes are fully realized in scalable production.
